Clare Dunn

Clare Dunn was born on April 27, 1987, in Two Buttes, Colorado. Her early life on a working farm and ranch in southeast Colorado and the Oklahoma Panhandle significantly influenced her music. She spent many hours operating tractors, combines, and 18-wheeler trucks during harvest, and hauling water for cattle. These experiences fostered an appreciation for artists such as Waylon Jennings, Tom Petty, Dwight Yoakam, The Rolling Stones, Merle Haggard, George Strait, Eagles, and Tina Turner. This background helped shape her unique blend of rock and country sounds.

After relocating to Nashville, Tennessee, Clare Dunn began her professional music career. In 2013, she released her debut single, “Get Out,” which positioned her as the highest-charting independent female artist on the Music Row Country Breakout chart in a decade. This early success led to a publishing deal and subsequent signing with Universal Music Group Nashville and BMG. She has since opened for artists including Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan, Bob Seger, Chris Young, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Hank Williams Jr., and Trace Adkins. Her self-titled EP, released in 2015, featured singles like “Move On” and “Tuxedo,” both of which charted on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts. In 2017, Sounds Like Nashville recognized her as an artist to watch.

In March 2020, Dunn parted ways with MCA Nashville. She then joined Big Yellow Dog Music in May 2020, releasing the single “Safe Haven” on May 1, 2020, followed by “Salt and Lime” on May 22, 2020. Her EP, “Honestly: A Personal Collection,” was released on June 12, 2020, marking her first release with Big Yellow Dog Music. Beyond her musical endeavors, Dunn has also acted as an advocate for agriculture, supporting organizations like FFA and defending Colorado agriculture.
