Daniel Lanois is a Grammy-winning record producer and musician known for shaping the sound of influential artists like U2, Bob Dylan, and Peter Gabriel. After co-producing U2s seminal album The Unforgettable Fire in 1984, Daniel Lanois established himself as a Grammy-winning record producer and musician with an enduring impact on contemporary music. This pivotal collaboration built on early work with Brian Eno, including the ‘Prophecy Theme’ for the 1984 film Dune. Lanois previously honed his production skills at Grant Avenue Studio in Hamilton, recording local artists and earning a CASBY award for his work on M + M’s Mystery Walk in 1985.
His successful association with U2 continued with co-production credits on All That You Can’t Leave Behind in 2000 and No Line on the Horizon in 2009. Lanois’ compositional talents extended to film, scoring Sling Blade in 1996 and contributing to the acclaimed Red Dead Redemption 2 soundtrack in 2018.
