Gerardo Ortiz

Gerardo Ortiz made an immediate impact with his debut studio album, ‘Ni Hoy Ni Mañana’ (2010), earning a Grammy Award nomination for Best Norteño Album in 2011. This launched him as a top-selling regional Mexican act, and in the same year, Ortiz was honored with six awards at the inaugural Billboard Mexican Music Awards, including Artist of the Year and New Artist of the Year. He quickly established a distinct style within the regional Mexican genre, particularly with his corridos, laying the foundation for a career marked by significant chart success. Following this breakthrough, Ortiz continued his rapid ascent, releasing his sophomore album, ‘El Primer Ministro’ (2012), which secured another Grammy Award nomination for Best Regional Mexican Music Album (including Tejano) in 2013.

Over his career, Ortiz has achieved considerable chart dominance, securing six No. 1s on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart and an impressive eight No. 1s on the regional Mexican albums list.
