IVE is a South Korean girl group formed by Starship Entertainment, making their debut on December 1, 2021, with the single album “Eleven.” The group consists of six members: Gaeul, Yujin, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo. Two members, Yujin and Wonyoung, had prior experience in the project girl group Iz*One after participating in the talent show “Produce 48,” with Wonyoung placing first and Yujin fifth. This earlier exposure contributed to immediate public interest and anticipation for IVE’s debut. Their music, predominantly K-pop, often centers on themes of self-love, confidence, and empowerment.
Following their debut, “Eleven” achieved commercial success, charting at number two on the Circle Digital Chart and earning them their first music show win just one week after debut, making them the fastest girl group to do so. The single went on to win 13 music show awards. In April 2022, IVE released their second single album, “Love Dive,” which became their first number-one song in South Korea on the Circle Digital Chart and was later awarded Song of the Year at multiple prestigious year-end award shows, including the Golden Disc Awards, MAMA Awards, and Melon Music Awards. Their third single album, “After Like,” released in August 2022, also reached number one on the Circle Digital Chart and achieved a “Perfect All-Kill” on South Korean music charts, a rare feat indicating top performance across all major streaming platforms. This song secured 14 music show wins, the highest for that year.
In 2023, IVE released their first studio album, “I’ve Ive,” featuring member participation in songwriting. The album produced two chart-topping singles, “Kitsch” and “I Am,” both achieving a “Perfect All-Kill.” That same year, the group expanded their global reach by signing with Columbia Records for promotions in the United States and embarked on their first solo tour, “The Prom Queens,” which included stops in Asia. They also released their first extended play, “I’ve Mine,” which included their fifth number-one single “Baddie.” In 2024, they released their second extended play, “Ive Switch,” and performed at Lollapalooza in Chicago, marking a significant international appearance. By 2025, they released their third and fourth extended plays, “Ive Empathy” and “Ive Secret,” with “Rebel Heart” from “Ive Empathy” becoming their sixth number-one single and fifth “Perfect All-Kill.” IVE has consistently demonstrated strong chart performance and a growing global presence since their formation.
