The sensational IVE are a South Korean girl group, who are composed of six members: dancer and rapper Gaeul, vocalist Leeseo, vocalist Liz, rapper and vocalist Rei, vocalist Wonyoung, and leader, dancer and vocalist Yulin. They were formed by Starship Entertainment and made their debut in 2021 with their singles album Eleven. Their debut studio album, I’ve Ive, was released in 2023.
Prior to IVE’s formation, in 2018 band members Wonyoung and Yujin were participants in the reality TV competition series Produce 48, with Wonyoung finishing in first place. They both then became members of the girl group Iz*One and were with them until its disbandment in April 2021. In November that same year Starship Entertainment announced the formation of a new girl group, with Wonyoung and Yujin being joined by Gaeul, Leeseo, and Liz. Their debut singles album, Eleven, was released the following month. The band were an instant hit, and their 2022 single Love Dive saw them rocket to stardom when it charted at No.1 on the Circle Digital Chart, becoming the best performing single of the year, and winning Song of the Year at the Asia Artist Awards, the Golden Disc Awards, the MAMA Awards, and at the Melon Music Awards. The track also went to No. 10 on the Global Excl. US chart, becoming the group’s first song to reach the Top 10. Their debut studio album, I’ve Ive, came out in April 2023.
