Maya Henri Diab was born on November 12, 1980, in Achrafieh, Lebanon. She is the youngest of her siblings and pursued a university degree in radio and TV media from the Lebanese University. Her career in entertainment began early, at age 16, when she won the Gold Medal in the fashion category at Studio El Fan in 1996. Two years later, in 1998, she participated in the Miss Lebanon competition. In 2000, she competed in the TV presenting category at Studio El Fan, which subsequently led her to join the Lebanese girl group, The 4 Cats, in 2001.
Diab expanded her career into acting, appearing in the film “Asad W Arbaa Kotat” in 2007 alongside The 4 Cats and Hany Ramzy. She also acted in television series such as “Kalam Niswan” in 2009 and “El Donia Heik” in 2010. After leaving The 4 Cats in 2010, she launched her solo music career. Her debut solo single, “Habibi,” and a duet with Ramy Ayach, “Sawa,” were both released in 2011. That same year, she began her television presenting career with “Heik Menghanni” on MTV Lebanon, followed by “Deal Or No Deal: El Ikhtiyar” on Al-Nahar in 2012, and “Ask The Arabs” on MBC 1 in 2016.
Throughout her career, Maya Diab has released several albums and EPs, including “#MyMaya” (2015), “My Maya I,” “My Maya II,” “My Maya III,” “My Maya IV” (all in 2023), and “#MyMayaV” (2023). Her live album, “Maya Live,” was released in 2015. In October 2020, her contributions to fashion were recognized when she was named the Fashion Icon of the Arab World by the Arab Fashion Council, and she subsequently opened the 12th edition of the Arab Fashion Week virtually in Dubai.
