Megan Hilty

Megan Hilty made her Broadway debut in August 2004 as the standby for Glinda in Wicked, quickly assuming the principal role on May 31, 2005, and performing it until May 28, 2006. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, Hilty later reprised her iconic portrayal of Glinda for the national tour and the Los Angeles sit-down production, concluding her acclaimed run in January 2009. Expanding her reach into television, she made guest appearances on series such as The Closer, Ugly Betty, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In 2007, Hilty lent her voice as Snow White in the animated film Shrek the Third.

A pivotal career milestone arrived in 2008 when she originated the role of Doralee Rhodes in the musical adaptation of 9 to 5, which premiered in Los Angeles before transferring to Broadway in 2009, earning her nominations for the Outer Critics Circle Award, Drama League Award, and Drama Desk Award. In 2011, Hilty secured widespread recognition for her role as Ivy Lynn in the NBC musical-drama series Smash, a performance that notably included the Grammy Award-nominated song ‘Let Me Be Your Star.’ Demonstrating her versatility, she starred in the City Center Encores! production of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes in 2012. Her work in television continued with a starring role in the NBC sitcom Sean Saves the World from 2013 to 2014.

Most recently, Hilty took on the lead role of Madeline Ashton in the stage adaptation of Death Becomes Her, a highly anticipated production for which she earned a 2025 Tony Award nomination. Her ongoing career trajectory, marked by critically acclaimed performances across Broadway, television, and film, solidifies her status as an acclaimed and continuously in-demand actress and singer in the industry.
