Stan Walker

Stan Walker was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1990 and was raised in New Zealand. He gained initial recognition as the winner of Australian Idol in 2009. His victory was followed by the release of “Black Box,” a string-swept R&B-influenced pop single that showcased his vocal range. His debut album, “Introducing… Stan Walker,” released in 2009, featured his interpretations of songs by artists such as Prince and The Carpenters. This early career phase established his artistic foundation in both Australia and New Zealand.

Walker’s career progressed with a focus on diversifying his musical style. In 2011, he released “Let the Music Play,” which incorporated dance-pop elements and included the track “Loud.” This album also featured a duet with Jessica Mauboy titled “Galaxy.” In 2013, he released “Inventing Myself,” an album that primarily consisted of original material co-written with various collaborators. A notable milestone in 2013 was touring with Beyoncé. In 2021, Walker released “Te Arohanui,” an album that focused on his Māori cultural heritage, with songs primarily performed in the Māori language.

His recent work includes new music in 2024 and 2025 like “BACK TO THE RIVER” and “KI TAKU AWA,” as well as live recordings from Parachute Studios. He has also engaged in collaborations such as “Father’s Eyes” with Kobie Dee and continued releases that reinforce his connection to his heritage and evolving musical journey.
