Korea Yugyeom is a South Korean singer-songwriter and dancer recognized for his multifaceted talents, having debuted with the group GOT7 and later establishing a solo career.
Yugyeom, along with fellow GOT7 member Jay B, participated in an art collaboration project named "Collaboran" for the carbonated mineral water brand Perrier. This project involved a multimedia artistic display created with American artist Ben Jones. The collaboration was publicly unveiled at a launching event.
GOT7 collaborated with the global sports brand Adidas through a special performance video. This video featured the title song from GOT7's new album, *Eyes On*.
Kim Yugyeom, known mononymously as Yugyeom, born on November 17, 1997, in Seoul, South Korea, developed an early interest in dance. He spent part of his childhood in Saudi Arabia due to his father’s work and later resided in Yeosu, where he took lessons in various instruments before focusing on dance. His passion for dance led him to perform for classmates and learn choreographies independently. At age 13, he joined the Body & Soul crew and won second place at the national Adrenaline House Dance Battle in 2010. A dance instructor from his school, who also worked for JYP Entertainment, facilitated his audition for the label, and he became a trainee in 2011.
Yugyeom officially debuted on January 16, 2014, as a member of the K-pop boy group GOT7, releasing the EP *Got It?*. He further expanded his career by appearing in the web drama *Dream Knight* in 2015 and began contributing to GOT7’s music as a songwriter and composer in 2016, with tracks such as “See The Light” and “No Jam.” That same year, he showcased his dancing skills on Mnet’s *Hit the Stage*, where he won first place in the final, further solidifying his reputation as a dancer. His musical contributions continued with songwriting credits on albums like *Flight Log: Arrival*, *7 for 7*, and *Present: You*, for which he released his solo song “Fine.”
In 2019, Yugyeom debuted as one half of the K-pop duo Jus2 alongside Jay B, releasing the mini-album *Focus*. He transitioned to a solo career in 2021, signing an exclusive contract with AOMG after his contract with JYP Entertainment concluded. He released his debut solo extended play, *Point of View: U*, on June 17, 2021, featuring collaborations with hip-hop artists such as DeVita, Loco, Gray, Jay Park, and Punchnello. This EP charted successfully, with “I Want U Around” reaching number two on the *Billboard* World Digital Song Sales Chart. Yugyeom continued to release solo music, including the digital single “Take You Down” in 2022, and embarked on tours across Europe, South Asia, Australia, and the Americas.
