Aaron Tveit is a Tony-winning stage and screen actor known for his impactful performances across Broadway, television, and film. After originating the role of Gabe in the Off-Broadway production of Next to Normal in 2007, earning a Lucille Lortel Award nomination, Aaron Tveit quickly established himself as a prominent talent. He made his Broadway debut in Hairspray in 2006, after touring nationally with the production and with Rent. Tveit reprised his critically acclaimed role as Gabe for Next to Normal’s Broadway run in 2009, securing a Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Supporting Performer.
His performance garnered widespread acclaim, culminating in a prestigious Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical in 2020. Simultaneously, he joined the cast of the Apple TV+ musical comedy series Schmigadoon!, starring in the show from its debut in 2021 through 2023. Most recently, Aaron Tveit took on the iconic titular role in the critically lauded Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd in 2024. He is also slated to star as Freddie Trumper in the upcoming Broadway revival of Chess, scheduled for 2025-2026.
