Hsu Eaint San

Hsu Eaint San, born Hsu Myat Thin on March 22, 1994, in Hpakant, Kachin State, Myanmar, began her career as an actress and commercial model. Her parents are Tun Aung Kyi, a jade trader, and Yin Yin Thaung, who is of Kachin-Rakhine descent. She is the third of five children. Hsu later moved to Yangon with her family in 2007. She attended Basic Education High School No. 1 Dagon and pursued studies in botany through distance education at Dagon University.

Hsu Eaint San made her official entry into the film industry in 2015, taking on a leading role in the film “Sate Naung Kyoe.” In 2016, she gained further recognition for her role in “Ywar Ko Pyan Kae Arr Luu.” Her career progressed significantly in 2016 when she secured her first major big-screen role in the comedy-drama “Facebook Ywar.” This film was a commercial success in Myanmar, playing in local theaters for an extended period of five weeks and contributing to her increased public profile. Throughout her career, she has acted in more than 40 films, including six big-screen productions.

Her notable acting credits include her portrayal of Mal Mal Pwa in “Nga Academy,” which premiered in 2017, and her role as Moe Swe in the 2018 comedy film “Baw Baw Ka Htaw.” The latter was a significant commercial hit nationally, earning her critical and popular acclaim for her performance. In 2019, she starred in “Thaye Thinbaw.” Beyond her acting, Hsu Eaint San also engaged in political activities following the 2021 Myanmar coup d’état, participating in anti-coup movements and the “We Want Justice” three-finger salute movement. Her involvement led to an arrest warrant issued under section 505 (a) of the penal code for speaking out against the military coup and inciting civil disobedience.
