In 2019, Zach Barack made history in one of the world’s biggest franchises, becoming the first openly transgender actor to appear in a Marvel film. Born on November 17, 1995, the American actor, singer, and comedian brought visibility to a blockbuster stage while building a career grounded in comedy, music, and authentic storytelling.
Barack’s screen breakthrough arrived with that same milestone year, when he appeared in episodes of “Transparent” and “LA’s Finest” before joining the cast of “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” portraying one of Peter Parker’s new classmates. He then took on a signature role voicing Barney Guttman, a transgender teen at the heart of Netflix’s animated series “Dead End: Paranormal Park,” playing a 17-year-old boy navigating family, identity, and life at a strange theme park.
Beyond acting, Barack writes music and performs stand-up comedy in Los Angeles, giving his live work a personal, comedic edge that complements his screen roles. As an openly trans artist working across film, television, voice performance, and stand-up, he continues to broaden what representation looks like on screen while expanding his creative footprint across comedy and music.
