Albrecht Schuch

Albrecht Abraham Schuch was born on August 21, 1985, in Jena, German Democratic Republic. He began his formal training in acting at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig, attending from 2006 to 2010. His career in film commenced with his debut in “Westwind” in 2011, and he later took on a starring role as Alexander von Humboldt in Detlev Buck’s “Measuring the World” in 2012, based on Daniel Kehlmann’s novel. Early in his career, he also appeared in television productions such as “Polizeiruf 110” and “Tatort,” consistently taking on diverse roles that allowed him to develop his craft across various genres.

A significant turning point in Schuch’s career arrived in 2019 with his role in “System Crasher,” for which he received the German Film Award for Best Actor. The following year, 2020, marked a historic achievement as he became the only male actor to win both Best Actor for “System Crasher” and Best Supporting Actor for “Berlin Alexanderplatz” at the German Film Awards in the same year.
