Ali Landry

Ali Landry was born Ali Germaine Landry on July 21, 1973, in Cecilia, Louisiana. Her early career was marked by significant achievements in pageantry. In 1990, she was crowned Miss Louisiana Teen USA and competed in the Miss Teen USA pageant, where she excelled in preliminary swimsuit and evening gown competitions. This early success laid the groundwork for her future in the public eye. In 1995, Landry won the Miss Louisiana USA title and subsequently secured the Miss USA 1996 crown, becoming the first former Miss Teen USA delegate to win Miss USA outright. She then represented the United States in the Miss Universe 1996 pageant, placing among the top finalists.

Landry’s breakthrough into national recognition came in 1998 as “the Doritos Girl” in a Super Bowl commercial, a role that garnered immediate widespread attention. This led to her being named one of People Magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People” that same year. Following this exposure, Landry transitioned into acting, securing recurring roles in television series such as “Felicity,” “Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place,” “Sunset Beach,” and “Popular.” She co-starred in the feature film “Beautiful” (2000), directed by Sally Field. From 2003 to 2006, she was a regular cast member on the UPN sitcom “Eve,” playing the role of Rita Lefleur. Her filmography also includes roles in “Repli-Kate” (2002), “Bella” (2006), which won the Toronto Film Festival Award, “Me Again” (2012), and “Sound of Freedom” (2023).

Beyond acting, Landry has engaged in various hosting roles, including the music-talk show “Farmclub.com” (2000), “Cooking with Mom” (2003), “Full Frontal Fashion” (2001) on WE: Women’s Entertainment, and NBC’s “Spy TV” (2001). She also launched her lifestyle line, Belle Parish, in 2009, beginning with a children’s clothing line.
