Alyssa Edwards

Justin Dwayne Lee Johnson, known as Alyssa Edwards, is an American drag performer, choreographer, and businessperson who has achieved international recognition through RuPaul’s Drag Race and her dance studio, Beyond Belief Dance Company. After gaining widespread visibility and becoming a fan favorite on the fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2013, Alyssa Edwards solidified her status as an internationally recognized drag performer and entrepreneur. Prior to her television debut, Edwards had already established a formidable presence in the competitive drag pageantry circuit, earning esteemed titles including Miss Gay Texas America in 2005, Miss Gay USofA in 2006, and the coveted Miss Gay America in 2010. Her journey through the pageant world was also captured in the 2008 documentary ‘Pageant.’ Beyond the stage, Edwards channeled her lifelong passion for dance by founding and operating the acclaimed Beyond Belief Dance Company.

Demonstrating her influence in the beauty industry, she collaborated with major brand Anastasia Beverly Hills to release her own signature makeup palette in 2019. Further showcasing her versatile appeal, Edwards hosted a promotional retreat for Tazo in 2018, leveraging her unique brand for corporate partnerships. Most recently, in 2024, Alyssa Edwards achieved a significant career milestone by winning the inaugural season of RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars, securing her place within the ‘Newly Constructed International Pavilion At the Drag Race Hall of Fame.’ This crowning achievement underscored her enduring legacy and prominent standing in the global drag entertainment landscape.
