Amanda Renner

Amanda Jacqueline Balionis, known professionally as Amanda Renner, was born on June 20, 1986, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She later moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Her academic pursuits led her to Hofstra University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism in August 2008. Prior to her university studies, Renner played volleyball for two years at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.

Renner’s career in sports journalism began with a focus on high school sports, where she worked for Verizon Fios Channel 1 and MSG Networks. In 2011, she joined the PGA Tour as an in-house reporter and host, producing and reporting on tournament highlights, shows, and events for the official PGA Tour website. This role provided her with extensive exposure to professional golf. In 2016, she transitioned to Callaway Golf, where she served as an in-house reporter, creating digital content for the golf manufacturer’s media production team.

Her career progressed significantly in 2017 when CBS hired her as a part-time golf reporter. The following year, CBS promoted Renner to a full-time reporting position, expanding her responsibilities to include coverage of college football and NFL games. She has also served as a reporter for multiple ‘The Match’ golf events and was featured as a ‘Golf Broadcaster’ in the TV series ‘Full Swing’ from 2023 to 2024. Renner is recognized for her ability to establish rapport with athletes and deliver in-depth interviews, cultivating a distinct presence within sports media.
