Amanda Stretton

Amanda Stretton became the first female driver to compete in the ASCAR Mintex Cup in 2001, achieving a 6th place finish and marking her as a formidable presence in motorsport. Her pioneering spirit continued in 2003 when she formed the first-ever female team in the British GT Championships and also became the first British female to race in the FIA Championships. A significant milestone arrived in September 2004, when Stretton made history as the first British woman to win an international long-distance event at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium. Her distinguished racing career culminated with an appearance in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 2006, solidifying her legacy in a male-dominated sport.

Following her impactful racing career, Stretton transitioned into media, initially co-presenting Channel 4’s motorsports coverage under ‘Motorsport on 4.’ In this role, she provided expert commentary on British Formula 3, GT, MGF, and Rally Championships, as well as Anglo-American Stock Car Racing and UK Supercross. She further expanded her television presence by presenting Channel 4’s Driven. After Channel 4’s motorsports rights concluded, Stretton seamlessly continued her presenting duties for new rights holders including Sky Sports, EuroSport, and Silverstone TV, and also served as a radio commentator for the American and European Le Mans Series. Her media engagements also extended beyond motorsport to programs for the Travel Channel and NOW.com.

Demonstrating her commitment to broader causes, she also serves as an ambassador for Hope for Tomorrow, a cancer care charity. Her ongoing roles continue to showcase her versatility and influence across both the automotive industry and public engagement.
