Amy Lennox was born in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, UK, and pursued her passion for acting by graduating from the Guildford School of Acting. Her early career in musical theatre saw her playing Margot in the original West End cast of “Legally Blonde” in 2009, where she also understudied the lead role of Elle Woods. She further developed her stage presence as Doralee Rhodes in the UK touring production of “9 to 5” in 2012, and performed in Rupert Goold’s “Decade” for Headlong Theatre in 2011. Lennox also originated the role of Velcro in the world premiere and first fully staged production of “Soho Cinders” between 2011 and 2012.
A significant period in her career began in 2015 when she played Cathy Hiatt in “The Last Five Years” in Belfast, followed by her role as Lauren in the original West End cast of “Kinky Boots.” Her performance in “Kinky Boots” earned her a nomination for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical at the 2016 Laurence Olivier Awards. She later took on the role of Elly in the David Bowie and Enda Walsh musical “Lazarus” from October 2016 to January 2017, receiving another nomination for the WhatsOnStage Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Lennox transitioned into more prominent television roles, joining the cast of “Holby City” in January 2019 as Chloe Godard, a CT surgeon, a role she held for three series until 2021 across 100 episodes. She also appeared in the TV series “Shetland” in 2018 as Sally McColl for two episodes and in “Casualty” in 2017 as Kayleigh Marshall. Her film credits include “Never Let Me Go” (2010), “Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines” (2012), and the upcoming “Blade Runner 2099” (2026). In 2022, she returned to musical theatre as Sally Bowles in “Cabaret” at the Playhouse Theatre, and in 2024, she is slated to play Dorothy in “Opening Night” at the Gielgud Theatre. Lennox has also lent her voice to video games such as “Bravely Default II” (2021) as Lily, “Another Eden” (2022) as Daisy, and “Arknights” (2019) as Ch’en and Zima.
