About

Andrea Kristen Savage was born on February 20, 1973, in Santa Monica, California, USA. She pursued her education at Cornell University, graduating cum laude with a degree in government and a minor in law studies. Her entry into entertainment began with acting in her senior year of high school in “Mame” and continued early in her career with an appearance as Renata Vargas on “Sweet Valley High”. Savage then joined The Groundlings theater, where she further developed her comedic skills through weekly performances. This foundation in improvisational comedy paved the way for her extensive career in both acting and writing.

Savage gained recognition for her work in various comedic projects across different platforms. Milestones in her career include starring as Tillie Sullivan in the Comedy Central mockumentary series “Dog Bites Man” (2006) and a notable role as Denise in the film “Step Brothers” (2008), which led to a comedy tour alongside Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis. She further showcased her writing and performing talents on the HBO show “Funny or Die Presents” (2010–2011) and made her directorial debut in 2012 with the satirical PSA “Republicans, Get in My Vagina.” Her diverse acting credits also include a recurring role as Chelsea in “Significant Others” (2004).

Andrea Savage continued to build a strong presence in television, notably with her recurring role as Helen Basch on “Episodes” (2015–2017) and as Senator (later President) Laura Montez on the acclaimed HBO comedy “Veep” (2016–2017). A significant achievement was the creation, writing, and starring role in the semi-autobiographical TruTV series “I’m Sorry” (2017–2019), which gained wider popularity when it streamed on Netflix. More recently, she starred as Stacy Beale in the Paramount+ series “Tulsa King” (2022–present) opposite Sylvester Stallone, and voiced Serena Ryan in “Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe” (2022), continuing to diversify her body of work in acting, writing, and producing.
