Andreas Wellinger

Andreas Wellinger was born on August 28, 1995, in Traunstein, Germany. He began his professional ski jumping career in 2011, quickly establishing himself on the international circuit. His debut in the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup occurred in 2012 in Lillehammer, where he finished fifth. The same year, he contributed to a team victory in Kuusamo and achieved individual podium finishes in Sochi and Engelberg. Throughout his early career, Wellinger demonstrated considerable talent, securing further podium placements and participating in the Four Hills Tournament.

A significant milestone in Wellinger’s career was his participation in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, where he earned a team gold medal for Germany. He continued to achieve success, becoming Team World Champion in Lahti, Finland, in 2017. The peak of his career came at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, where he won an individual gold medal in the normal hill event, along with two silver medals in the individual large hill and team large hill events. His achievements include multiple World Cup wins, with his first individual victory in Wisla, Poland, in 2014.

Despite numerous successes, Wellinger remains ambitious, stating that he still aims to win an Overall World Cup, the Four Hills Tournament, and a World Championship. His dedication to daily improvement and consistent performance has allowed him to maintain a prominent position in ski jumping, securing multiple medals across Olympic Games, World Championships, and Ski Flying World Championships. He has also engaged in partnerships with several notable brands.
