Andrew J. West

Andrew J. West was born in Merrillville, Indiana, and spent his formative years in Lake Station. His interest in acting emerged early, but it was during his time at Indiana University that he fully immersed himself in the craft. Initially pursuing philosophy and anthropology, he eventually joined the theater department, landing significant roles such as the lead in Eric Bogosian’s “Suburbia.” This experience solidified his ambition to pursue acting professionally. Alongside college friends, he began writing, producing, and starring in short films, some of which gained recognition at various festivals and received awards.

Following his move to Los Angeles, Andrew J. West quickly secured representation and began securing acting roles. An early breakthrough came with his portrayal of the young “Christian Troy” in the FX series “Nip/Tuck.” This role garnered attention from producers and casting directors, leading to recurring roles in “Greek” and “Privileged.” He also made guest appearances in established shows like “Bones,” “CSI:NY,” “Ghost Whisperer,” “Castle,” and “Body of Proof.” Demonstrating his range, he took on a lead role in Josh Schwartz’s web series “Rockville, CA” and guest-starred in comedies such as “Shit My Dad Says” and “Suburgatory.” These comedic roles further propelled his career, resulting in lead parts in two network pilots: ABC’s “Who Gets The Parents,” opposite Jane Kaczmarek and Adam Arkin, and “Family Practice” with Christopher Lloyd and Jean Smart.

More recently, West has continued to build a diverse filmography. He took on lead roles in the independent feature film “The Middle Man” alongside Jim O’Heir, and in the Tom Kapinos / Warner Brothers pilot “Dead People.” He also had a notable multi-episode guest starring role in NBC’s “Under the Dome.” In a significant career milestone, Andrew J. West gained widespread recognition for his multi-episode arc on AMC’s “The Walking Dead” in 2014, portraying “Gareth,” the leader of Terminus. This role earned him the distinction of being voted #1 Villain of 2015 by Us Weekly. He also played a lead role in the indie film “Walter” opposite William H. Macy.
