Super Bowl winner Andy Reid is the head coach of the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs. Prior to this, Reid served as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles from 1999 until 2012. He served as the Eagles’ general manager from 2001 to 2012 while simultaneously serving as the team’s executive vice president of football operations. He is the only NFL coach to have led two separate teams to consecutive conference championships while also winning 100 games.
From 1992 until 1998, Reid worked as an offensive assistant with the Green Bay Packers, the team with which he won the Super Bowl XXXI. This is where Reid got his start as a professional coach. His time in Green Bay enabled him to land his first head coaching job with the Eagles in 1999, who under his direction consistently made the playoffs. He guided the Eagles to nine postseason appearances, six division titles, five NFC Championship Games (including four straight from 2001 to 2004), and a Super Bowl XXXIX attendance. Despite his success, Reid was unable to guide the Eagles to a Super Bowl triumph, and he left the franchise after the 2012 campaign as the squad deteriorated.
When Reid was hired as the Chiefs’ head coach in 2013, he assisted in reviving the faltering team and putting an end to their eight-game postseason losing streak, which had been in place since 1993. He guided the Chiefs to eight postseason berths during his ten seasons with Kansas City, six division titles, four consecutive AFC Championship Games, two Super Bowl appearances, and one Super Bowl victory in Super Bowl LIV, the team’s first in 50 years and his first as head coach.
