Sergei Polunin

Sergei Polunin is a ballet dancer, actor, and model, known for his performances in prominent ballet productions and his work in film and fashion collaborations. After joining the British Royal Ballet School in 2003, sponsored by the Rudolf Nureyev Foundation, Sergei Polunin quickly distinguished himself, earning the prestigious Prix de Lausanne and Youth America Grand Prix in 2006. His talent was further recognized when he was named Young British Dancer of the Year in 2007. Polunin rapidly ascended through the ranks at The Royal Ballet, becoming a first soloist in 2009.

Expanding his artistic endeavors, Polunin established Project Polunin in 2017, an initiative dedicated to creating new dance and ballet works. The same year marked his entry into acting, with appearances in major motion pictures including ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ (2017), ‘Red Sparrow’ (2018), and ‘The White Crow’ (2018). In 2018, Project Polunin was reincorporated as Polunin Ink, which introduced innovative productions such as ‘Rasputin’ and ‘Little Red and the Wolf.’ His sustained impact on the dance world was recognized with the Danza & Danza Awards Personality of the Year in 2019. Most recently, Polunin was honored with the Prize of the President of the Russian Federation for Young Cultural Figures in 2023, underscoring his ongoing contributions and influence in the arts.

As a multifaceted talent, Polunin continues to explore and merge the worlds of classical ballet, contemporary dance, film, and creative production, consistently pushing artistic boundaries.
