Now he has performed all over the world and is one of the best known dancers on the planet.
Polunin has worked his way to the top in the span of his career, performing with flair and skill. Not only was he cast as the youngest ever principal dancer in the Royal Ballet in 2010, but he has also received awards for his performances worldwide. As well as being named Young British Dancer of the Year in 2007, he won the Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland in 2006 and in the same year achieved the title in the Youth America Grand Prix. Since then, Polunin has performed with some of the most exclusive ballet companies in the world, including Sadler’s Wells Theatre and, of course, the Royal Ballet.

He appeared in a performance of The Phantom of the Opera which was filmed at the Royal Albert Hall, and he has also starred in several other TV ballets. He has also worked closely with the singer, Hozier, to make him several music videos that star his dancing. He has also brushed shoulders with Hollywood, where he had roles in Murder on the Orient Express, Red Sparrow and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.
