Anna Camp

Anna Ragsdale Camp was born on September 27, 1982, in Aiken, South Carolina. Her mother, Dee Camp, was a Democratic Party volunteer, and her father, Thomas Sewell Camp, worked as a bank executive. Early exposure to acting came in the second grade through a Drug Abuse Resistance Education production. She further pursued her theatrical interests, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2004. Shortly after, she moved to New York City to begin her professional acting career. Her early career included off-Broadway productions and a 2007 nomination for a Lucille Lortel Award for her role in “The Scene.”

Camp’s career saw a significant turning point with her Broadway debut in the 2008 production of “The Country Girl,” followed by her role as Jill Mason in the 2008 Broadway revival of Peter Shaffer’s “Equus,” where she starred opposite Daniel Radcliffe. In television, she gained recognition for her role as Sarah Newlin in the second season of the HBO supernatural drama series “True Blood,” a role for which she earned a nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. She also had notable recurring roles in critically acclaimed series such as “Mad Men” (2010), “The Good Wife” (2011–2012), and a main role in the first season of “The Mindy Project” (2012–2013).

Her film career expanded with appearances in “The Help” (2011) and her memorable portrayal of Aubrey Posen in the “Pitch Perfect” film series (2012–2017). This role further solidified her presence in the entertainment industry. Beyond acting, Camp has also ventured into production, serving as an executive producer for the film “From Black” (2023). Her recent work includes roles in the upcoming film “Scream 7” (2026) and the Netflix series “You” (2025), where she plays the dual role of Reagan and Maddie Lockwood, showcasing continued career progression and diversification.
