Anthony Carter

Anthony Carter is a former professional football player known for his career as a wide receiver in the USFL and NFL, earning recognition for his contributions to the sport. After earning three All-America honors between 1980 and 1982 while playing college football at the University of Michigan, Anthony Carter went on to build a distinguished professional football career. During his collegiate tenure, Carter earned four letters as a wide receiver and contributed to two Big Ten championship teams. He made his professional debut in 1983 with the Michigan Panthers of the United States Football League (USFL), where he played for two impactful seasons before transitioning to the National Football League.

In 2001, he was honored with induction into the College Football Hall of Fame, acknowledging his impactful collegiate performance and professional achievements. The following year, 2002, saw him further celebrated with his induction into the University of Michigan Hall of Honor, solidifying his legacy within his alma mater. In 2010, the Big Ten Network further cemented Carter’s iconic status by naming him a ‘Big Ten Icon,’ placing him at the 24th spot on their distinguished list.
