Charli Paul Frank Monét Finch, known professionally as Anubis Finch, was born on August 14, 2001, in Seaford, East Sussex, England. At the age of 16, she began performing as a drag queen, adopting the name Anubis Finch as a tribute to her late father’s Egyptian heritage. Finch studied Performing Arts at East Sussex College, where she showcased her talents in musical theatre, including portraying the titular character in “Shrek the Musical.” Her early career also involved musical endeavors, starting to perform musically at 13 years old. She developed a four-octave vocal range and contributed to the music industry by providing demo and backing vocals for artists such as Zara Larsson, Rita Ora, Adam Lambert, and Paloma Faith.
Anubis Finch’s career progressed with the release of her extended play, “Anubis,” in 2019, followed by a cover of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” in the same year, and the single “Home” in 2020. A significant turning point in her career occurred in 2021 when she was announced as a contestant on the third series of “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.” Despite being the first contestant eliminated, she was recognized by her peers and crowned Miss Congeniality. Following her television appearance, Finch released the single “Wonderland” in 2022 and participated in the “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK: The Official Tour” with the series 3 cast. In 2023, she released her debut album, “Rebiiirth,” and embarked on “The Nightmares Before Christmas Tour” with fellow drag artist Charity Kase.
