Recognized as Indiana Mr. Basketball in 2016 after averaging 23.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists during his senior season, Kyle Guy also earned McDonald’s All-American honors the same year. He then left an indelible mark on the University of Virginia’s basketball program from 2016 to 2019. As a freshman (2016-17), he established himself, averaging 7.5 points per game with 49.5% three-point shooting accuracy.
Guy then signed a two-way contract with the Sacramento Kings, balancing his time between the NBA team and their G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings, where he notably scored 42 points in a single game. From 2019 to 2022, his professional journey continued with stints for the Cleveland Charge and the Miami Heat. With the Heat, he signed two 10-day contracts and a two-way contract, showcasing his capabilities with a 17-point performance against the Houston Rockets in December 2021. He then transitioned to international play, joining Club Joventut Badalona in Spain (2022-2023), followed by Panathinaikos in Greece (2023).
His international success continued into 2024 with La Laguna Tenerife in Spain, where he distinguished himself as the FIBA Champions League Top Scorer. In August 2024, Guy began a new chapter, returning to the University of Virginia as an athlete development mentor/special assistant. His coaching ascent continued, becoming an assistant coach at Nevada in April 2025. Guy is expected to return to playing in October 2025, having signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Indiana Pacers’ G League affiliate, the Noblesville Boom, demonstrating his versatile career trajectory.
