Balázs Hárai

Balázs Hárai is a decorated Hungarian water polo centre forward, boasting a career marked by Olympic medals, World Championship titles, and consistent performance at the highest levels of the sport. His extensive experience includes representing Hungary in multiple international competitions and playing for various prominent Hungarian clubs. After securing two Hungarian Championship titles with Bp. Honvéd in 2005 and 2006, Balázs Hárai established himself as a formidable centre forward in water polo, embarking on a career marked by Olympic medals, World Championship titles, and consistent elite-level performance.

His international success continued with a gold medal at the World Aquatics Championships in 2013, complemented by a FINA World League silver medal. He consistently contributed to the national team’s performance, earning a European Championship silver medal, a FINA World Cup silver medal, and another FINA World League silver medal, all in 2014. His remarkable contributions were recognized when he was named Hungarian Water Polo Player of the Year for two consecutive years, in 2015 and 2016. Continuing his impressive national team tenure, Hárai competed in his second Summer Olympics in 2016, where he also secured another European Championship bronze medal.

From 2018 to 2024, Hárai competed with OSC-Újbuda, consistently performing at the highest domestic level. In 2024, he transitioned to Kaposvár, continuing his decorated club career.
