Born on August 21, 1988, in Aberdeen, Scotland, Ben Kilner began snowboarding at the age of nine. He quickly demonstrated proficiency in the sport, competing in the Rider Cup series in Scotland and securing first place in the 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001 series. At 13, he won the inaugural British Championships in 2001. Kilner’s early career involved international competitions, including the Paul Mitchell US Grand Prix. His consistent performance led to his promotion to the British Snowboard Team at 16, where he began competing in World Cup events.
Kilner represented Great Britain at two Winter Olympic Games. He made his Olympic debut at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, finishing 18th in the Men’s Halfpipe event. He later competed in the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, where he placed 16th in the qualification rounds of the Men’s Halfpipe. Throughout his competitive career, Kilner achieved notable results, including a 3rd place finish at the Canada World Cup and a 7th place at the Spanish World Cup. These achievements contributed to his standing as a prominent figure in British snowboarding.
