Bradley Aaron Keselowski was born on February 12, 1984, in Rochester Hills, Michigan, into a family with a strong racing heritage. His father, Bob Keselowski, and uncle, Ron Keselowski, were also active in racing. Brad spent his early years working in his father’s race shop, performing various tasks from sweeping floors to mowing the grass. In 2000, he began his own racing career in the Factory Stock division, laying the groundwork for his future in NASCAR. His professional NASCAR journey began in 2004, at the age of 20, driving the No. 29 Ford F-150 in the Craftsman Truck Series. He made his debut at the Kroger 250 at Martinsville, starting 26th and finishing 33rd. He competed in seven more races that season, achieving his best finish of 16th at the UAW/GM Ohio 250 in Mansfield. In 2005, Keselowski ran a full-time Truck Series schedule with sponsorships from SUBcrews.com and Samson Stone, securing a seventh-place finish at the Florida Dodge Dealers 250 in Daytona, his sole top-ten finish of the year, and ending the season 21st in points.
Keselowski’s career trajectory saw a significant shift when he joined JR Motorsports in 2007, competing full-time in the Busch Series. In 2008, he earned his first career Nationwide Series victory at the Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway, holding off Clint Bowyer. He secured a second win at the Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway that same year. His performance led to his first taste of Sprint Cup action, including filling in for Jeff Gordon and Casey Mears, and later competing in two races for Hendrick Motorsports. A pivotal moment came in 2009 when Keselowski achieved his first career Sprint Cup victory at the Aaron’s 499 at Talladega. This win, marked by a dramatic final lap entanglement with Carl Edwards, was notable as it was the first Sprint Cup lap he had ever led.
The period from 2010 to 2021 marked Keselowski’s successful tenure with Team Penske. In 2010, he won the NASCAR Nationwide Series title with six wins and 26 top-fives. His crowning achievement came in 2012 when he secured his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship, accumulating five wins throughout the season. Key victories included the Food City 500 at Bristol, the Aaron’s 499 at Talladega, and the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky. A memorable event during his championship year was tweeting from his car during a red flag period at the Daytona 500. After a successful period, in 2022, Keselowski transitioned to RFK Racing as a driver and minority co-owner, driving the No. 6 Ford Mustang Dark Horse. He ended a 110-race winless streak in 2024 by winning at Darlington, marking a significant return to victory lane for himself and for Ford.
