Bryan Harsin

Bryan Dale Harsin, born on November 1, 1976, in Boise, Idaho, established a notable career in college football, initially as a player and later as a successful coach. He graduated from Boise State University with a degree in Business Management after playing quarterback for the Broncos from 1995 to 1999. Harsin’s coaching journey began at Eastern Oregon University in 2000, where he coached running backs and wide receivers. He returned to his alma mater, Boise State, in 2001 as a graduate assistant, progressively moving up the ranks to tight ends coach from 2002-2005. His tenure as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2006-2010 was particularly impactful, with the offense leading the nation in scoring in 2009 and 2010, and averaging 41.4 points per game. During this period, Boise State achieved a 61-5 overall record, securing two Fiesta Bowl victories in 2006 and 2009.

In 2011, Harsin transitioned to the University of Texas as co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, a role he held for two seasons. His first head coaching opportunity came in 2013 at Arkansas State, where he guided the team to a share of the Sun Belt Conference championship and a berth in the GoDaddy.com Bowl. Following this, he returned to Boise State in 2014 as head coach, where he compiled an impressive 69-19 record over seven seasons, winning three Mountain West Conference titles. His first season back saw the Broncos win the Fiesta Bowl, marking a 12-win season. Harsin continued to lead Boise State to 10 or more wins in five of his seven years as head coach.

From 2021 to 2022, Harsin served as the head coach for the Auburn Tigers. During his time at Auburn, the team recorded a 6-7 record in his inaugural season, which included victories over ranked opponents such as Arkansas and Ole Miss, and a close four-overtime loss to Alabama. Despite challenges and a subsequent departmental review, Harsin remained with the program until October 2022. In December 2024, Harsin was named offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of California, marking a new chapter in his extensive coaching career.
