Buddy Lewis is a richly talented American stand-up comedian, actor, writer and voice-over artist. Among his many acting credits are roles in House Party 4, The Parkers, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, That’s So Raven, and many others. His stand-up work has seen him appear on the likes of Jamie Foxx’s Lollapolooza, Def Comedy Jam, and Martin Lawrence Presents: 1st Amendment. Among his recent projects is the recurring role of Bernie in Millennials, a comedy made by ALLBLK TV for Amazon Prime.
Lewis was born in Indiana in 1963. He moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment but had to wait a long time to get that all-important lucky break, not getting his first roles until he was in his early 30s. Since then, however, he has rarely been out of work, whether it’s with guest roles on teen sitcoms or writing for the likes of VH1, Tyler Perry, and Jamie Foxx. In 2012, he finally got his much-deserved first recurring role, playing Carson in the comedy series For Richer or Poor. This was followed by another recurring role, this time in JD Lawrence’s Community Service. In 2017, he showed another side to his character when he became the co-host of Lawd Have Mercy, an Amazon Prime clips show that looks at the funnier side of religious life in America.
With many feature films, shorts, series, sitcoms, animated series, stand-up shows, clip shows, and stage productions to his name, Buddy Lewis is certainly one of American comedy’s more industrious characters.
