Supriya Ganesh

Supriya Ganesh, an American actress of Indian origin, was born on December 16, 1997. She spent parts of her early life in New Delhi, India, with her Tamil parents, before moving to the U.S. to pursue higher education. Ganesh attended Columbia University, where she studied Neuroscience and Women and Gender Studies, initially considering a career in medicine. It was during her time at Columbia that she began to professionally pursue acting, securing an agent and making her screen debut on the CBS series “Blue Bloods” in 2018. This early success solidified her decision to pivot from medical school towards acting.

Following her graduation, Ganesh’s career gained significant momentum when she was selected for the ABC Showcase, a program that recognizes emerging talent. This led to roles in various television series and films. She appeared in “The Enemy Within” and “The Village” in 2019, followed by “New Amsterdam” in 2021. In 2022, she was cast in the film “Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game” and had an appearance in “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” Her career continued to progress with roles in “Everything’s Trash” (2022), “Chicago Med” (2023), and a recurring role in “Grown-ish” from 2023 to 2024. A notable milestone included her role as Alexis in a 2023 episode of “Billions.”

Currently, Ganesh is recognized for her main role as Dr. Samira Mohan in “The Pitt,” an HBO Max medical drama that premiered in 2025. This role has brought her widespread attention, with the series achieving significant viewership. She has also expanded into theatre, starring as Vaidehi in the world premiere of Deepak Kumar’s “House of India” at the Old Globe Theatre in 2025. Her academic background in neuroscience has informed her portrayal of medical characters, and she continues to engage with and contribute to conversations around representation in the entertainment industry. In May 2025, Ganesh publicly shared her identity as queer and uses she/they pronouns.
