Calvin Booth

Calvin Booth, an NBA championship-winning General Manager, cultivated his esteemed career through a successful 10-season playing tenure followed by a rapid ascent in NBA front office roles. After a standout collegiate career at Penn State, where he earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year as a junior and a second-team All-Big Ten Conference selection as a senior, Booth was drafted by the Washington Wizards in the second round (35th overall) of the 1999 NBA draft. As a center, he played for teams including the Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks, Seattle SuperSonics, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Sacramento Kings. During his professional playing career, Booth was renowned for his defensive prowess and clutch moments.

He subsequently joined the Minnesota Timberwolves, where his leadership skills led him to the position of director of player personnel. In 2017, Booth was appointed Assistant General Manager for the Denver Nuggets, quickly establishing himself as a strategic asset to the organization. Booth’s distinguished career culminated on July 7, 2020, when he was named General Manager of the Denver Nuggets. Under his executive leadership, the Nuggets achieved their first-ever NBA championship in 2023, defeating the Miami Heat.

This historic victory solidified Booth’s reputation as one of the league’s top architects of a championship-caliber team. His successful tenure as General Manager concluded on April 8, 2025, leaving a legacy of strategic team building and a coveted NBA title.
