A generation of Americans grew up with Candace Cameron Bure, who first found fame as a child actor in the late 1980s on the era-defining sitcom Full House. She reprised her role in the 2014 reboot Fuller House but also has a range of other successful roles to her name: She has played the title character in the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries for the Hallmark Channel and was a co-host of ABC talk show The View. In 2014, she was a finalist on the ever-popular Dancing with the Stars. She has won various awards for her work, including the 2017 Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Comedy Actress.
Bure made her television debut when she was just seven years old. Aged eleven, she was cast as D.J. Tanner in Full House, an ABC family sitcom that was a huge hit with audiences, running for eight seasons, never leaving the Nielson Top 30, and continuing to win new fans whenever it’s repeated. The show made Bure a star and won her the 1994 Kids’ Choice Award for Favourite Television Actress. When the show finished in 1995, Bure continued to act prolifically in TV films and made guest appearances in other popular sitcoms, such as Boy Meets World.
After a break from the industry, Bure returned in 2007, picking up where she’d left off with numerous roles in Hallmark seasonal films and shows such as That’s So Raven. In 2014, Fuller House, a reboot of the show that had made her name was launched on Netflix, with Bure reprising her role and winning yet more awards. The show ran for another four years, proving that its comedy is timeless.
