Cassandre Beaugrand, born on May 23, 1997, in Livry-Gargan, France, established herself in the triathlon world early in her career. Between 2013 and 2014, she earned several Junior European Cup and Championship medals. In 2014, she contributed to the French Mixed Relay team’s silver medal at the World Championships in Hamburg and placed second at the Junior World Championship in Edmonton. After a less active year in 2015, Beaugrand returned to strong form in 2018, achieving her first WTS gold in Hamburg. That same year, she helped the French Mixed Relay team win the World title and the European Championships, in addition to securing a U23 bronze medal on the Gold Coast. Her consistent performance continued into 2019, where she achieved first and second place finishes on her preferred course and helped the French team retain their world title. She also won gold at the Tokyo Test Event in August 2019.
The 2022 season marked a career-best for Beaugrand, finishing 5th in the overall season rankings with gold at WTCS Leeds and silver at WTCS Montreal. In 2023, she nearly claimed the World Championship title, placing second to Beth Potter at the Finals in Pontevedra. Leading up to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Beaugrand secured back-to-back victories in Cagliari and Hamburg. At the home Olympics in Paris, she earned a gold medal, marking a significant achievement in her career. Shortly after, she became France’s first-ever World Champion by winning gold at the Championship Finals Torremolinos in 2024.
Beaugrand’s career also includes successes in Super League Triathlon, finishing 3rd in the 2018 Championship season and 8th in 2021. She won the first Super League Triathlon Championship Series event of the 2022 Season in London. In 2021, she secured a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the mixed relay event. Her accomplishments extend to setting a Women’s Run Record at the Arena Games Triathlon London 2022 and winning gold at the 2022 European Triathlon Championships in the mixed relay. In 2024, she became the only female triathlete to win gold medals in the Olympic Games, World Championships, and European Championships in the three major competitions. She was also recognized with the Knight of the Legion of Honour in 2024.
