Chandler Riggs

Chandler Riggs, born on June 27, 1999, in Atlanta, Georgia, began his acting career at a young age. His early theatrical involvement included playing a Munchkin in “The Wizard of Oz” and participating in “Oklahoma.” At age nine in 2009, Riggs secured his first feature film role as Tom in “Get Low,” alongside Bill Murray and Robert Duvall, and appeared in the television film “The Wronged Man.” These early experiences laid the groundwork for his future success in the entertainment industry.

Riggs’s breakthrough came in 2010 when he was cast as Carl Grimes, the son of protagonist Rick Grimes, in the AMC television series “The Walking Dead.” He remained a central figure on the critically acclaimed show for eight seasons, from 2010 to 2018. During his tenure, Riggs earned significant acclaim, including three Saturn Awards and a Young Artist Award for his performances. His character’s narrative arc became a pivotal element of the series, establishing Riggs as a recognizable face in television. Even after his character’s departure from the main storyline, he made a cameo in the series finale in 2022 as a Hilltop farmer.

Following “The Walking Dead,” Riggs continued to expand his career beyond acting. He appeared in films such as “Mercy” (2014), “Keep Watching” (2017), “Only” (2019), and “Inherit the Viper” (2019). In late 2017, he ventured into music, releasing electronic music under the stage name Eclipse. In 2019, he took on a recurring role as Patrick ‘PJ’ Nelson in the ABC drama series “A Million Little Things.” Riggs has also moved into production, co-owning Smooth Blend Films and Virtual Nexus, a VR nonprofit, where he produced “Neon Divide,” a large VR Roleplay project. In 2023, he voiced Superman in “Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes and Huntsmen, Part One” and portrayed Peter Parker in the 2024 fan film “The Spider,” showcasing his versatility across various platforms.
