Charlie Nicholas

Charlie Nicholas is a former professional footballer recognized for his impactful career as a striker for clubs such as Celtic and Arsenal, and later as a football pundit. After scoring 48 goals for Celtic during the 1982–83 season, which earned him both the Scottish PFA Player of the Year and Scottish Football Writers’ Player of the Year awards, Charlie Nicholas quickly established himself as one of British football’s most exciting young talents. Joining Celtic in 1979, he made his first-team debut at 17, scoring in a Glasgow Cup match. Nicholas’s prolific scoring record led to significant team success, securing back-to-back Scottish Premier Division titles in 1980–81 and 1981–82, alongside the Scottish League Cup in 1982–83.
