Chen Ruolin, born on December 12th, 1992, is widely regarded as one of the greatest female divers in the history of the sport. She has won five Olympic gold medals and ten World Championship gold medals in a glittering career that has spanned over a decade.
Chen began diving at the age of 7 at the Zhejiang Provincial Diving Team and quickly showed immense talent and potential. She made her international debut at the age of 13, winning the 10-meter platform at the World Junior Diving Championships. From that moment, Chen went on to dominate the sport and become one of China’s most decorated Olympians.
She made her Olympic debut at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where she won gold medals in both the 10-meter platform individual and synchronized diving events. She then went on to repeat the feat at the 2012 London Olympics, winning two more gold medals, and at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where she won gold in the synchronized 10-meter platform diving event with her partner Liu Huixia.
Chen has also achieved great success outside of the Olympics, winning six gold medals at the World Championships in 2009, 2011, 2013, and 2015, as well as gold medals at other major international events, such as the FINA World Cup and the Asian Games. Her incredible achievements have cemented her as one of China’s greatest sporting heroes and an icon of the diving world.
Off the platform, Chen is known for her humility, hardworking nature, and dedication to her craft. She has been an inspiration to many young divers in China, and her legacy in the sport will undoubtedly last for generations to come.
