United States Chris Camozzi is a professional combat sports athlete with a career spanning mixed martial arts, kickboxing, and bare-knuckle boxing, achieving championship status in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.
Chris Camozzi and his wife purchased and operated Performance MMA, a gear and apparel shop and online sales company, located in the same building as his gym, Factory X Muay Thai, in Colorado. This venture allowed him to engage with the business side of mixed martial arts by supplying training equipment and clothing.
Christopher Allen Camozzi was born on November 20, 1986, in Alameda, California. His athletic foundation was built through high school wrestling and rugby, a sport he continued at Fort Lewis College. After leaving college, Camozzi focused on training in Muay Thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, which led to the beginning of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career in 2006. Early in his career, he competed against experienced fighters, including a bout for the King of Champions Middleweight Championship against Jesse Taylor.
Camozzi gained wider recognition in 2010 when he participated in The Ultimate Fighter Season 11. He won his elimination fight to enter the house but sustained a broken jaw, which forced his withdrawal from the competition. Despite this setback, his performance earned him a fight at The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale, where he secured a unanimous decision victory against James Hammortree and subsequently received a UFC contract. Over the years, Camozzi has had multiple stints in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, facing notable opponents and earning a “Performance of the Night” bonus in 2016.
His career diversified beyond MMA, with transitions into Glory Kickboxing and later, the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). In the BKFC, Camozzi has achieved significant success, becoming the BKFC Cruiserweight World Champion and successfully defending his title. His career reflects adaptability across different combat sports disciplines, demonstrating consistent competition at professional levels since 2006. He also previously owned and operated Performance MMA, a gear and clothing distribution company in Englewood, Colorado.
