All-Star hockey ace Chris Kreider has always been a key player for the New York Rangers. The American possesses everything a modern power forward requires – a physical approach to the game, game-breaking ability and top-end speed. Kreider is one of the NHL’s fastest big men (standing at 6’3” tall) and his excellent hand-eye coordination makes him deadly on rebounds and deflections. The winger and alternate captain was a breakout star in the season where he turned 30, becoming the fourth player in Rangers history to rack up more than 50 goals and recording his 25th power play goal against the New Jersey Devils, the most in a single season in the history of Rangers. Nicknamed “The Human Eclipse”, his immense value to his team was more evident than ever in the 2021-22 season, and in January 2022 he was chosen to the 2022 NHL All-Star Game.
Hailing from Boxford, Massachusetts, the hockey phenomenon opted to play at Boston College where he evolved into one of the nation’s top players during his three seasons there. In 2010 he helped the United States win gold at the 2010 World Junior Championship and also represented his country at the 2010 World Championship.
Off the ice, the American is one of the most-respected teammates at Rangers and a great role model to the younger players. A leader on and off the ice, his professional attitude helped Kreider achieve his best overall season at the age of 30, and he shows no sign of slowing down yet.
