Chris Rene

Chris Rene is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and producer known for his distinct musical style and journey through ‘The X Factor USA’. After captivating judges and audiences and achieving third place on the first season of ‘The X Factor USA’ in 2011, Chris Rene secured a joint venture deal with Syco and Epic Records, divisions of Sony Music Entertainment, in January 2012. During his impactful run on ‘The X Factor,’ Rene impressed with original compositions including ‘Young Homie,’ which served as his audition song and garnered significant viewer attention, and ‘Where Do We Go from Here,’ performed throughout the live shows. Prior to his national television debut, Rene had already established himself as a multifaceted musician, contributing as a guitarist and vocalist in the alternative pop band Diversion from 1994 to 2002.

With Diversion, he released their self-titled CD, ‘Diversion,’ in 2000, and performed at notable venues such as the Red Room. Following the band’s dissolution in 2005, he embarked on a solo career, independently releasing his album ‘Soul’d Out’ in 2009. Building on the substantial momentum from ‘The X Factor,’ Rene’s major label debut single, the re-released ‘Young Homie,’ arrived in March 2012, accompanied by a professional music video to broaden its reach. This release marked his official entry into major label distribution following his pivotal record deal with Syco and Epic Records earlier that year.
