Christopher Hart, a Canadian actor and magician, is widely recognized for his iconic portrayal of Thing in the acclaimed The Addams Family film series. Hart developed his unique physical acting style through a distinguished career in magic, which began with his acceptance into Hollywood’s prestigious Magic Castle’s elite junior program. He honed his craft demonstrating tricks at Hollywood Magic, the largest magic shop on the West Coast, where he performed for notable figures including Michael Jackson, Johnny Carson, and Muhammad Ali. His exceptional skill led to extensive collaboration with world-renowned illusionist David Copperfield, working on numerous live and television shows, including the groundbreaking 1986 special, The Magic of David Copperfield: China.

His contributions to the magic community have earned him significant accolades, including the coveted ‘Stage Magician of the Year’ award twice from Hollywood’s Magic Castle. Further international recognition came when he was personally awarded the top prize at the Grand Prix Magique in Monte Carlo by Princess Stéphanie of Monaco. Hart’s ability to convey emotion and character through precise hand movements became a distinctive trademark, making him a sought-after talent for intricate physical performances, as showcased in the short film One Hand, Left (1998).
