Christopher Chung

Christopher Patrick Chung was born on July 13, 1988, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. His background is Irish on his mother’s side and Malaysian Chinese on his father’s side. He grew up in Mount Eliza and attended Padua College. His interest in acting began in Year 6 with a school production of “Aladdin.” He further developed his skills through acting workshops at St Martin’s Youth Theatre and singing competitions during his teenage years. After withdrawing from university, he pursued intensive acting training at the Ward Acting Studio in New York before relocating to London in early 2012.

Upon moving to the United Kingdom, Chung quickly established himself in the acting industry. His early career saw an appearance in the Australian soap opera “Neighbours” in 2011. He gained wider prominence by joining the cast of the BBC One drama “Waterloo Road” from 2013 to 2014, where he played the character Archie Wong for 12 episodes. His theatre work includes roles in “Heathers the Musical” as Kurt Kelly and “Romeo and Juliet” as Paris at Shakespeare’s Globe. He also contributed to the West End Cast Recording of “Heathers the Musical,” originating the song “You’re Welcome” alongside Dominic Andersen and Carrie Hope Fletcher. His career trajectory continued with appearances in video games, including “Elex” in 2017 and “Total War: Three Kingdoms,” where he provided voice work for Sima Wei.

A significant turn in Chung’s career came with his role as Roddy Ho in the Apple TV+ series “Slow Horses,” which began in 2022 and has continued through 2025. This role earned him a nomination for the British Academy Television Award for Best Supporting Actor. Beyond “Slow Horses,” he has been cast as a hot-headed soldier in “Doctor Who” (2025), a villain’s sidekick in the 2024 film “Blitz,” and in a leading romantic role as Harry in the upcoming Netflix historical drama “My Brilliant Career.” He maintains a career as a personal trainer in London, a profession he uses to complement his acting work and provide external focus.
