Multi-talented actor and singer Christopher Chung is best known for playing Archie Wong in Waterloo Road and for his various theatre roles. He has worked with some of the most reputable institutions in the United Kingdom, including Shakespeare’s Globe, the National Theatre and various West End Theatres, including his recent role playing Kurt Kelly in Heathers: The Musical. Chung can be heard singing the track ‘You’re Welcome’ on the West End Cast Recording of Heathers: the Musical alongside fellow cast members Carrie Hope Fletcher and Dominic Anderson, and also appeared in The King & I, Fame and Grease in Australia.
Chung has also starred in several films including Paranoia (2010) and Six Men’s Health (2008), and he impressed judges with his vocal capabilities when he appeared on talent show Australian Idol as a contestant. His other television roles include the part of Clay Lambert in long-running Australian soap Neighbours and BBC pilot Memoirs of an Alien.
Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Chung studied in New York before relocating to the United Kingdom in 2012. He got his big break in 2013 when he landed the role of Archie Wong in BBC One’s popular series, and was a regular cast member for 19 episodes of Series 9. In 2018 Chung joined the cast of Heathers: The Musical and enthralled audiences playing the part of Kurt Kelly at The Other Palace and in the West End’s Theatre Royal Haymarket.
