About

Born in Farmington Hills, Michigan, Colin Egglesfield, the second child of Kathleen and physician William Egglesfield, grew up in a Catholic household alongside his older sister Kerry and younger brother Sean. He pursued his education at Marian Catholic High School and Illinois Wesleyan University, where he played football before transferring to the University of Iowa for a pre-med program. After earning his BS, he traveled through Europe. To finance medical school, he entered the modeling industry, gaining representation from Beatrice Model agency in Milan and DNA Model Management in New York City. He modeled for high-profile brands such as Versace, Calvin Klein, and Armani, and appeared on the covers of Vogue Italia and L’Uomo Vogue in the late 1990s. His acting career began with television appearances on shows such as “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Gilmore Girls,” “Charmed,” and “Nip/Tuck.” He also had a role in the 2005 film “Must Love Dogs.”

Egglesfield gained wider recognition in September 2005 when he took on the role of Josh Madden in the soap opera “All My Children,” a role he held until 2009. During this period, People magazine recognized him as one of its “Sexiest Men Alive” in 2005, and he starred in the romantic drama “Beautiful Dreamer” in 2006. From 2009 to 2010, he played Auggie Kirkpatrick in The CW’s “Melrose Place.” His film career continued with the romantic comedy “Something Borrowed” in 2011, co-starring Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin. He secured recurring roles as Tommy Rizzoli on TNT’s “Rizzoli & Isles” from 2011 to 2016 and as Evan Parks on Lifetime’s “The Client List” from 2012 to 2013.

His filmography expanded with roles in “Life Happens” (2011), “Open Road” (2013), “A Stranger in Paradise” (2013), “Vice” (2015) alongside Bruce Willis, “Bad Moms” (2016), “The Space Between Us” (2017) with Gary Oldman, “Reprisal” (2018), “Backtrace” (2018) with Sylvester Stallone, and “100 Days to Live” (2019). He has also appeared in television series including “Hawaii Five-O,” “Chicago Fire,” “Lucifer,” and “UnReal.” Beyond acting, Egglesfield is an author, having published “Agile Artist: Life Lessons from Hollywood and Beyond,” which draws on his experiences, including surviving two battles with cancer and the World Trade Center events. He also hosts online courses and a podcast, “The Beyond Impact Podcast with Colin Egglesfield,” focusing on communication skills and personal development.
