Constance Zimmer

Constance Zimmer was born on October 11, 1970, in Seattle, Washington, to German immigrant parents. She developed an interest in acting during high school and later honed her skills at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena. Her early career included stage work, where she earned a Dramalogue Award for Best Actress in a Los Angeles production of ‘Catholic School Girls’. Zimmer also appeared in numerous national commercials, including one for Duracell, before transitioning to television with guest appearances on shows like ‘Ellen’, ‘Seinfeld’, ‘The X-Files’, and ‘The King of Queens’. Her talent for both comedic and dramatic roles began to establish her presence in the entertainment industry.

Zimmer gained significant recognition for her role as Dana Gordon in HBO’s critically acclaimed series “Entourage,” starting in 2005 and continuing for six seasons, a role she reprised in the 2015 film adaptation. Another prominent role was Claire Simms on ABC’s “Boston Legal” (2006–2007), which earned her a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for outstanding ensemble performance. Her career further expanded with notable performances in Netflix’s “House of Cards” (2013-2018) as Janine Skorsky and HBO’s “The Newsroom” (2013) as Taylor Warren. Her diverse filmography also includes feature films like “Chaos Theory” (2008) alongside Ryan Reynolds, and “Results” (2015), which premiered at The Sundance Film Festival.

Her most awarded role came with Lifetime’s drama series “UnREAL,” which premiered in 2015. As Quinn King, the executive producer of a fictional dating show, Zimmer received an Emmy nomination and won a Critics’ Choice Award for her portrayal. Her directing credits include five episodes of television, demonstrating her versatility behind the camera. She also lent her voice to animated projects such as “Transformers: Robots in Disguise” and “BoJack Horseman.” Zimmer has also played recurring roles in ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ (2015) and ‘Good Trouble’ (2021-2022). She continues to work in television, appearing in shows like “Big Sky” and “The Calling” (both created by David E. Kelley), further showcasing her continuing presence in film and television.
