Danay Garcia

Danay Garcia is a Cuban-American actress, writer, and producer who moved to the United States in 2003. She began her career in film and television shortly after, gaining early experience in productions like “Danika” (2006) alongside Marisa Tomei. Her significant breakthrough arrived in 2007 when she joined the cast of the popular Fox series “Prison Break” as Sofia Lugo, a role she maintained for the final two seasons. This role brought her international recognition and exposure in numerous magazines.

Garcia’s career continued to develop with appearances in various television shows, including “CSI: Miami,” “CSI: NY” (2009), and “Supernatural” (2013). In film, she expanded her portfolio with roles in “From Mexico with Love” (2009), “Peep World” (2010), “Eternal Ashes” (2011), which received critical acclaim at the Montreal Film Festival, and “Liz in September” (2014) directed by Fina Torres. A defining role emerged in 2016 when she became a series regular as Luciana Galvez in AMC’s hit television show “Fear the Walking Dead,” a role she continued through 2023. Beyond acting, Garcia has also taken on creative and production roles. She wrote, directed, and produced the short film “La Cura” (2019) and produced the independent thriller “Avenge the Crows” (2017), where she also co-starred with Lou Diamond Phillips and Danny Trejo. Her directed episode of “Fear the Walking Dead”, titled “Anton,” premiered in 2023.
