Dane Simpson is an Australian comedian. He was a national winner in Deadly Funny in 2015, and since then, the Wagga Wagga-based comedian has had a flurry of corporate jobs, tours, and festival appearances – both as a solo act and as part of comedy troupe Aborigi-LOL. Simpson was a regular on the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala and appeared on Opening Night Comedy All-Stars Supershow.
In addition to comedy festivals, Simpson appeared has appeared on television and in films including Channel 10’s “Have You Been Paying Attention,” a panel game television quiz show. He also appeared on “Get Krack!n,” a satirical Australian comedy series that was created by and stars comedians Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan. He was featured as himself on the television series “Comedy Up Late.” He appeared in the 2018 Australian dramedy as a football player in “The Merger,” which was based on comedian Damian Callinan’s show of the same name.
Simpson produces the monthly Riverina Comedy Club. He is also the programmer and producer for the Wagga Comedy Festival every year, but the festival has been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the lockdown over the pandemic, Dane became the host of the interactive online cult-hit show Servo Bingo. He is set to play Donald in the upcoming film Residence due to be released in 2022.
