Dania Ramirez is an experienced Dominican-American actress who has landed roles in a long list of reputed television shows and movies. Her major television roles include Maya Herrera in NBC’s superhero drama Heroes, Alex in HBO’s Entourage, Bianca in the last season of The Sopranos (which is frequently regarded as one of the best series of all time) and more recently ABC’s Once Upon a Time in 2017 as the lead character Cinderella. She’s also well-known for her long-running role as Rosie Falta across all four seasons of Lifetime’s Devious Maids from 2013-2016, for which she won an NAMIC Vision Award in 2016 for “Best Performance – Comedy”.
Beginning her search for stardom as a young model, Ramirez was being cast in commercials from a young age. Her first serious job came at age 19 when she was Jay-Z’s “girlfriend” in the music video to his song “Streets Is Watching” which was released in 1998. She then went on to appear in a variety of high profile television shows, as well as movies such as X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), Illegal Tender (2007), American Reunion (2012) and Mojave (2015). Most recently she earned a voice role as Scandal Savage in Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay (2018) and a supporting role in the Hollywood blockbuster Jumanji: The Next Level (2019) with A-listers Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas and Danny DeVito.
After her recurring appearance in the hit fantasy drama series Once Upon a Time, Ramirez is now poised to leverage her sizeable talent to take on further exciting work at the top tier of entertainment. She’s due to appear in Sweet Tooth, a 2021 web television series based on the DC Comics original.
