About

Daniel Faalele was born on November 9, 1999, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, to a Samoan father and Tongan mother. Growing up, he participated in basketball and rugby union. His entry into Football began when he was discovered by a University of Hawaiʻi football team coach while scouting players in Australia. This discovery led him to attend IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, a significant turning point in his athletic career. At IMG Academy, Faalele spent 2016 learning the sport, and by 2017, he became a starter on the offensive line, contributing to an undefeated season and earning a selection to the 2018 Under Armour All-America Game. He later committed to play college football at the University of Minnesota, choosing it over offers from several prominent Division I programs.

During his college career at Minnesota, Faalele made an immediate impact. As a true freshman, he played in 10 games, starting the final eight at right tackle, and received an honorable mention for the All-Big Ten Conference in 2018. His performance earned him a place on GQ Australia’s list of 50 Greatest Living Athletes. He continued to perform as a sophomore, starting 11 games at right tackle and again receiving honorable mention All-Big Ten. In 2020, he opted out of the season due to the COVID-19 crisis but returned for his senior year, where he notably scored his first career touchdown with a two-yard run in the 2021 Guaranteed Rate Bowl against West Virginia.

Faalele’s journey culminated in his selection by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round (110th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. At 6-foot-8 and 384 pounds at the time of his drafting, he became the heaviest rostered player in the NFL, a testament to his imposing physical attributes. In his rookie season with the Ravens in 2022, he appeared in 16 games and made one start, solidifying his presence in professional football. He continued his progression with 16 games played in 2023 and became a full-time starter in 2024, playing 17 games with 17 starts. In 2025, he played 6 games, all as a starter, demonstrating consistent contributions to the Baltimore Ravens’ offensive line.
