British YouTuber and gamer Daniel Robert Middleton, also known online as DanTDM (formerly TheDiamondMinecart), is well-known for his video game commentary videos. His online video channels have covered a wide range of video games, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Roblox, Pokémon, and Minecraft. He was ranked as one of the top YouTubers in the world by viewers in July 2015. In addition to setting Guinness World Records for his gaming and presenting, he has received numerous Kids’ Choice Awards.

On October 6, 2016, Middleton published the comic novel Trayaurus and the Enchanted Crystal. For eleven weeks, the book held the top slot on The New York Times Best Seller list for hardcover graphic novels. He went on a book tour that included stops in New York City and several parts of the UK, and he was a featured guest at the Cheltenham Literature Festival. He began a tour in Australia and the United States in 2017.

Middleton appeared in a web series called DanTDM Creates a Big Scene in 2017 that also included other social media actors and entertainers. On April 7, 2017, the show debuted exclusively for subscribers to YouTube Red (now known as YouTube Premium). DanTDM and his animated companions are followed as they struggle to keep their live act going in the television programme. Middleton was the highest-paid YouTube star in 2017, according to Forbes, with earnings of $16.5 million (about £12.2 million) in a single year. The Sunday Times listed Middleton at number 41 on its list of the top 100 influencers in the UK in 2019 and pegged his net worth at £25 million. His YouTube channel had over 26.3 million followers as of January 2023, 18.9 billion video views, and more than 3,500 videos posted.
