Daniel Middleton, known as DanTDM, launched his YouTube channel, initially titled TheDiamondMinecart, in 2012, rapidly establishing himself as a prominent figure in gaming content, primarily featuring popular Minecraft videos that garnered a substantial young audience. His early success led to signing with the multi-channel network Maker Studios under their Polaris label in August 2014. Middleton later rebranded his channel to DanTDM in December 2016, a move that solidified his global online presence. In 2016, he was recognized in the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition for ‘Most views for a dedicated Minecraft video channel.’ That same year, he diversified his creative output with the release of his graphic novel, ‘Trayaurus and the Enchanted Crystal,’ which quickly became a New York Times Best Seller.

His significant impact on popular culture was acknowledged when he ranked 41st in The Sunday Times’ UK’s Top 100 Influencer List, also in 2019. Middleton expanded his presence in film with a cameo in the hit action-comedy ‘Free Guy’ in 2021, bringing his recognizable persona to the big screen. Looking ahead to 2025, DanTDM is set to broaden his media presence considerably. He will join Classic FM as a regular presenter for their video game music series ‘Next Level’ starting in January.

Furthermore, he is slated for an appearance in the highly anticipated ‘A Minecraft Movie’ and will make a cameo in the ‘Black Mirror’ episode ‘USS Callister: Into Infinity,’ underscoring his continued evolution and influence across diverse entertainment platforms.
